Birdville Hawks First Down Club

September 29, 2004

The meeting was called to order by President Bill Hurlburt.

Committee members present: Bill Hurlburt, Clay Buckalew, Lance Ammons, Tanya Neill & Jerriann Ferris.

Members absent: Amy Logan & Diana Braly.

The committee discussed the need to find out the benefits of getting their own tax id #. It was brought to the attention of the members that there would be a donation of monies needed to apply. The board voted to turn over the information to Diane Braly to get it together and come back to the members on what is needed to set this up.

Clay gave the membership report. A letter will be sent home with the players, who family hasn’t joined the boosters. It was asked to Coach Helzer if this could be placed on the boys locker.

Lance was given information on setting up a taste test. He will coordinate with the company and the school district to set it up in the arts facility.

Scheduling and preparing for the Freshmen party was discussed and more information will be forth coming.

Jerriann gave quotes from different companies for the catering of the Varsity and JV banquet. No decision has been made on whom to go with as of yet. Clay will be getting quotes from Joe T’s for the Varsity and JV banquet.

Merchandise and program sells during homecoming came to $1200.00. The insert for the program was donated by Lori Walker.

The craft show will be October 30, 2004. Volunteers are needed to work during the day. Tanya will be making calls and scheduling this.

The board will be having an extra meeting to go over new merchandise and pricing for this.

A discussion was started when the team wins district to have a tail gate party in celebration. More information will be forth coming.

It was asked if during Friday Games if the announcer could mention the booster club and the next meeting dates. This will be explored with the facility administrators.

With no further business the meeting was dismissed.
